A George VI silver rectangular cigarette case with floral and leaf scroll mounts, the lid with applied crowned monogram within engine turned border, reeded sides and engine turned base, 5.5ins x 3.375ins x 1.75ins high, by Henry Hodson Plante, crowned Birmingham 1937 (weight 15ozs), the interior inscribed "Charlotte Haskins from Arthur Xmas 1938", and a Vanity Fair "Spy" coloured lithograph - "HRH The Duke of Connaught and Strathearn", 12ins x 7.5ins, signed "Arthur", and a silvery metal Duke of Connaught's own rifles badge
Note: Arthur being Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught (1850-1942), third son to Queen Victoria. The Duke had a distinguished military career rising to the rank of Field Marshall. He was nursed in his last years by Charlotte Haskins (1897-1965).
