Imperial bronze censer from emperor’s Summer Palace sells for £37,000 at The Canterbury Auction Galleries A Chinese imperial bronze censer taken by a Royal Marine captain as spoils of war when the emperor’s Summer Palace was looted and burned after the fall of Peking in 1860 sold for £37,000 at The Canterbury Auction Galleries.
