An early 18th Century burr mulberry longcase clock by Peter Walker of Wild Street End, the 11ins square brass with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, and with turned winding holes, matted dial centre and cast cherub head spandrels to the eight day two train five pillar movement striking on a bell, contained in a burr mulberry veneered case, the main trunk door and sides also inlaid with herringbone bandings, the hood and plinth largely rebuilt and veneered in burr walnut (pillars missing to hood and lenticle covered in later oval panel), 83ins high Note: Peter Walker recorded as apprentice to Andrew Savery in 1681 but does not appear to have become a Freeman of the Clockmakers Company, was working in London until 1720 and died in Amsterdam in 1730
