A late 19th/early 20th Century"Black Forest" carved lindenwood Smokers companion, carved in the form of a standing mother bear with hinged head to accommodate tobacco jar, supporting an oval table, fretted and carved with floral and leaf ornament, and with two lidded compartments, (originally with three bear cubs - now missing), 19ins x 15ins x 31ins high (see Note C -"Swiss Carvings - The Art of the"Black Forest" 1820-1940" by J. Orenski, Simon Daniels and Michael Daniels, Antique Collectors Club 2005, pages 122 and 123 for similar examples)
