An early 18th Century japanned longcase clock by Saml. Hollyer of London, the 12ins arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and turned winding holes to the eight day two train movement five pillar movement striking on a bell, contained in painted tortoise-shell effect case decorated in gilt with flowers and banding, the hood with swept cresting and turned pillars, shaped and arched trunk door, 84ins high Note : Samuel Hollyer (Holliard) recorded as apprentice 1693, a member of the Clockmaker's Company in London in 1705-1718
