Saturday 03 Dec, 2022 - 10.00amA 16th Century "Tiger Ware" Stoneware Jug, with later silver mounts, the neck mounts embossed and engraved with three lion masks within shaped cartouches, divided by fruit, the hinged cover with corresponding decoration and cast angel thumbpiece, the loop handle with panel engraved date "1570" and initials "I.S." and "R.B.", the foot mount with gadrooning and battlemented upper border joined by four body ribs to an engraved shoulder collar, with the motto "Ne Cede Malis" (Yield not to Misfortunes) engraved to the underside of the foot, 11ins high, spurious hallmarks now cancelled and re-assayed by London Assay Office
