A 19th Century mahogany "North Country" longcase clock by Whiteley of Ripponden, the 14ins arched painted dial with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial and calendar dial, the arch painted with a young lady reclining on a sofa, to the thirty hour movement striking on a bell, contained in ornate figured case with moulded scroll pediment and turned pillars to hood, shaped trunk door flanked by triple cluster columns, the base with raised astragal panel and on bracket feet, 96ins high
Note: Probably by Thomas Whiteley of Ripponden (1829-1871) known as "Tom Clock"
