John Richard Ridgewell (1934-1967) - A collection of student and professional architectural drawings, showing both plans and elevations, including - "A Potter's Studio", with South West Essex Technical College and School of Art stamp, 20.5ins x 29ins, and a sequence of professional drawings for the University of Birmingham
Note: After obtaining his degree in architecture, Ridgewell spent about eight years working in Finland with Alvar Aalto. In 1957 Sir Hugh Casson and Conder were tasked to prepare a masterplan on the site of the original 1900 University of Birmingham buildings which were incomplete. The University drafted in other architects to amend the masterplan produced by the group and it is possible that the drawings included here represent part of that redesign.
