A 18th Century "Black Oak" longcase clock by Philip Stephens of London, the 12ins arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial, calendar aperture and gilt brass spandrels to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell, contained in later carved case decorated with leaf ornament, 94ins high (case and movement probably associated) Note : Philip Stephens recorded working in The Minories, London, Apprenticed 1741 and Member of the Clockmakers Company 1748-1752
