A late 19th Century Russian silvery metal travelling devotional diptych icon with arched top, the exterior engraved with scrolled leaves, rays of light and with raised crucifix, opening to reveal two painted portraits of the Virgin Mary and Our Lord and an Apostle, with engraved text above, 4.25ins x 2.75ins overall, with marks for St. Petersburg 1870 (formerly silver gilt - gilding mostly worn away - slightly dented and worn - painted portraits to interior damaged)
