Tuesday 12 Apr, 2016 - 10.00amA mid 19th Century French gilt brass, white marble and black marble cased mantel clock of "Empire" design by Piolaine of Paris, the 6ins diameter domed enamelled dial with Arabic numerals to the eight day two train movement with silk suspension striking on a bell, contained in ornate drum pattern case surmounted with cresting of ears of wheat and fruiting vines, supported by two griffins, the white marble columns sides with caryatids and leaf scroll ornament, and with black marble stepped base with oval paterae and triple frieze panel depicting cupids at play, 24.5ins high (lacking pendulum and mounts and components loose)
