A Louis XIV Red Tortoiseshell Boulle and Gilt Brass Mounted Mantel Clock, by Andre Hory of Paris, the gilt brass dial with raised blue Roman numeral enamel cartouches and ornate dial centre, the matted section with cast twin Cupids cross trophies, to the two train movement with outside locking plate striking on a bell, contained in ornate tortoiseshell and boulle case of shaped outline, surmounted by a cockerel and with eight turned and flambeau finials, the front and sides in engraved brass of leaf scroll and figure design with gilt brass mounts and mouldings, on gilt brass paw feet, 20ins high
Note: Andre Hory (Houry) recorded working Paris circa 1700-1750, a fine Boulle bracket clock is noted as being in the Palais de Pau, Paris.
