The Canterbury Festival

The talks were a resounding success with a variety of speakers and there different subjects culminating in a fantastic talk by Lars Tharp on Friday 30th October. His talk "Beyond Earth, Clay and the Modelling of Culture" captivated the audience with his anthology of the great leaps forward  and the shaping of civilization through the medium of clay.

Other highlights included Irving Finkel whose talk "The Ark before Noah, Decoding the Story of the Flood" was a brilliant talk discussing the instuctions for building the ark, and Gyles Brandreth. Brandreth's talk "Word Play" was discussing his new book and the English language and was by all accounts a highley entertaining evening.
