David Parker Bsc(Hons), General Manager, The Canterbury Auction Galleries
Doors will open at 6.00pm giving guests a chance to have a private view of our April sale which will include Fine Art, Antiques and Oriental Porcelain and Works of Art.
The talk will commence at 7.00pm where you can join our General Manager David Parker for an insight into the world of Hogarth, looking at how we can relate to many of the social issues of his day.
David Parker is a Military Antiques specialist and Historian. His interest in historic diaries brought him to the Forrest Diary, written in 1732, describing the journey of a young Hogarth and friends across North Kent. Keen to experience this journey first hand David followed in Hogarth’s footsteps revelling in the artists ability to graphically depict the social issues of the day and discovering details of the Kent landscape that remains unchanged nearly 300 years later.
The talk will finish at 8.00pm when complementary wine and nibbles will be offered and guests will have a chance to meet our speaker David Parker and our other specialists here at The Canterbury Auction Galleries.
